Chef-Driven Philosophy

Seize the Day Dining

Under the direction of Chef Alyssa Gangeri, our top notch culinary team has created the ideal day dining experience. With a heavy focus on both variety and locally sourced items throughout the menu, guests can enjoy a classic Southern breakfast with local Kentucky eggs, try a wagyu steak and eggs platter, or discover our one-of-a-kind breakfast croissant sandwich, The Cube.

With a whimsical and playful pastry program, The Butter Milk Ranch focuses on using the highest quality ingredients and time-honored methods to serve desserts and pastries that create a full sensory experience, evoking memories and nostalgia like only sweets can.

Everybody has a good time at the Ranch, but nobody has a better time than guests with a sweet tooth. Our ever-growing, always changing list of sweet treats includes freshly spun gelato, croissants in all shapes and sizes, jaw-dropping danishes, butter soft cookies, entremet cakes, house made candies, flavorful granola, and even take-home dog treats for furry friends.

Our crackerjack pastry team loves taking familiar, crowd-pleasing flavor profiles and elevating them in unexpected, delicious ways for our guests.

How Sweet It Is

In the midst of a pandemic, trying to get a gelato machine from Italy may not have been the easiest task to accomplish, but with a lot of patience and waiting, our machine finally arrived and we’ve been churning fresh gelato ever since. New flavors are always popping up in the shop, and we promise to never include any preservatives or unnatural ingredients.

Inspired by classic ice cream sodas and floats, our barista team serves up our signature affogato sundaes, featuring Italian espresso poured over our house made gelato. But hey, you can never go wrong with a house-made cookie and gelato combo. Never.

A Lot o’ Gelato

More than Meats the Eye

Sure, pastries and baked goods are our focus here at The Butter Milk Ranch, but our butcher case contains some of the best house-cured meats you’ll find this side of the Mississippi. On display just across from our coffee bar, guests can peruse our house-cured bacon, ham, prosciutto, and sausage. It’s a sight to see, but it’s the smell that’ll have you hollering for more.

All of our breakfast sausages, chicken chorizo, and andouille are made in house every day, which means they never even touch a freezer. And our award-winning C'reuben features our house corned beef, which is cured for 11 days, slow-cooked in its own juices for 15 hours, then served on our pretzel croissant. By that description alone, you could see why it was awarded the Best Sandwich in Nashville... but you should really taste it to believe it

The Buzz About Our Coffee

Days here on the Ranch start bright and early and we pride ourselves on serving some of the best coffee in this town. We personally feel that nothing compliments a warm croissant right out of the oven better than the perfect cup of joe, so we’ve focused on partnering with local roasters to showcase the best beans Nashville has to offer.

If you like your coffee on the chilly side, our cold brew is served on tap and features OSA Coffee, a micro roaster located in Edgehill Village just up the road. For those who’d like to kick their feet up and stay a while, we offer delicious French press options, showcasing a rotating variety of local coffee mainstay 8th & Roast.

And what’s day dining without a little espresso? We’re proud to be the only spot in Nashville serving Danesi Espresso, an Italian classic dating back to 1905. Danesi provides the perfect jolt to our local ingredient-infused lattes and our affogato made with house-made gelato.

Hold on just a minute—we want to circle back on that last part real quick in case you missed it: yes, our affogato uses classic Italian espresso you can’t get anywhere else in town, artfully poured over gelato we prepared in-house this morning. D’you get all that, partner?
